Change of Active Screen without user action

Does anyone know how to stop a Windows 2000 machine from changing the active
screen (screen flipping) by itself? Screens change between various MS Office
(Outlook, IE and Word/Excel) documents I have open all by itself. Especially
between an open Outlook message and the main screen.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
